About Lunaé

I am you.

I am a mother, a daughter, a wife, a sister, a woman. I have faced hard days, good days, and the days that simply passed without incident. I have walked a million miles exhausted but carried on. I have sat down when I was weary and found it difficult to get back up. Sometimes, I stayed there a little longer than I should have.

And in some of my darkest moments, when all I wanted was to disappear, I found something to hold onto that kept me from being swallowed by the nothingness.

I have loved deeply and loved poorly. I’ve struggled through relationships and wondered if I was simply horrible at finding love, always seeming to find it in the wrong places. I’ve raised children alone. I’ve lost friends, partners, a baby, homes, and money. I’ve gone hungry so my children could eat and worked until I was exhausted to keep a roof over our heads.

But this isn’t a list of everything I’ve survived.

It’s simply to tell you that I have struggled, too.

I have made poor decisions because I was working with outdated knowledge. I’ve made life harder for myself. I’ve been wrong. I’ve said, done, and thought things that weren’t pretty. There are pieces of my story that would be much easier to tell if I polished them first.

I won’t.

Because I’ve spent enough of my own life wondering if something was wrong with me because the things I felt didn’t resemble the tidy versions of life we so often show one another.

For years, when I didn’t know what to do, I searched for answers. Sometimes I followed someone else’s path simply because it had worked for them. Eventually, I learned one of the hardest lessons of my life:

Someone else’s right answer can still be wrong for me.

My choices haven’t always been perfect. Some worked. Some didn’t. Some were made by a woman who knew less than the woman writing this today.

But they were mine.

That is part of why Love, Lunaé exists.

I don’t write these stories because I have figured life out. I don’t want to stand on the other side of hardship and tell you which road you should take. I want to tell you where I’ve been, what I thought, what I chose, where I was wrong, what it cost me, and what I discovered along the way.

I will give you honesty, even when that honesty doesn’t make me look good. I will admit my imperfections because I have them. I will write about the beautiful moments, but I will also write about the ugly and embarrassing ones we sometimes hide because we’re afraid no one else will understand.

Life is messy. It is unpredictable. Sometimes, it downright sucks.

And it’s okay to admit that.

I still struggle. I still have moments when getting back up is harder than I want anyone to know. But through grief, love, loss, happiness, sorrow, mistakes, and all the ordinary days in between, I have continued to choose.

I have chosen love.

I have chosen life.

I have chosen to keep going.

Why Lunaé?

Lunaé isn’t a character I created to tell these stories. The name comes from a piece of my own identity, reshaped into something softer and more reflective of the woman behind these pages.

And Love, Lunaé is exactly what it sounds like: something personal.

I want these stories to feel less like words published for an audience and more like something shared between people who know what it is to be human. Like a letter from a friend who isn’t afraid to tell you the parts she usually wouldn’t say out loud.

I share my stories so you can know me without ever knowing me. Not because our stories are the same, but because maybe you’ll recognize a piece of yourself in mine.

I won’t tell you what your answer should be.

I’ll simply walk beside you while you find it.

And maybe, by sharing the road, the journey won’t feel quite so lonely.

Love, Lunaé
